Wedding Planning

“If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, there will be no cake for you. Or a seat. Or a meal… See the pattern here?”

Everybody always gets so excited about weddings and rightfully so, it is a time to celebrate love, and the union of two people that (hopefully) want to be together for the rest of their lives.

But then you start actually planning this meal for 300 of your closest friends (and not so close) and true colors come out. And that’s when your compromise, without letting go of

those important things for both, come into place. Your relationship gets tested and you find out who the other person is!

We’ve been engaged for three months which is by no means a lengthy time… We started planning second two after the engagement, we got engaged on top of a mountain and we had a 4 hour hike down and then a 7 hour drive home so there was

plenty of time to talk over things including picking a date and figuring out who we really wanted there.

What do we have planned so far? Well we have a date. And a venue. And a guest list. And we’ve send save the dates out. And we are only 164 days to go. Was this too ambitious? We’ll find out soon enough.

Talking to my mom a couple nights ago she mentioned how about 30% of the people invited wouldn’t go because of different reasons. Of course I haven’t send invites so I don’t know if that’s true. All I know is that the people that are invited are ones we are really looking forward to seeing and I always give myself a bit of time to see and vice versa.

In this planning process we have had disagreements and also some outside feedback. One thing I do know, whatever thing you do, it will never be enough for everyone and the choices you make will never be good for everyone, and trust me there will be LOTS of opinions. But just remember this is a special day for you and your partner, and whatever the rest thinks doesn’t matter.

Enjoy your Wedding Day!
